Overview
The World Society of Victimology’s 13th International Symposium on Victimology, like the symposia before it, is a weeklong gathering of Victimology scholars, researchers, practitioners, teachers, and students from around the world to examine and discuss current and emerging issues in the field. The theme of the symposium, “Victimology and Human Security,” will be emphasized among the various paper, poster, and parallel sessions.
LocationThe symposium will be hosted by Tokiwa University in scenic Mito, Japan. The university is located within a single day’s trip to beautiful sightseeing locations such as the cities of Tokyo, Yokohama, the giant statue of Buddha at Kamakura, and the World Heritage Site of the Nikko Mountain Resort.
LanguagesThe official language of the symposium will be English. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in both English and Japanese during each of the plenary sessions. Other languages may be included if pre-registration numbers justify the need.
Additional ProgramsThe World Society of Victimology’s annual Asian Postgraduate Course will be held in tandem with the symposium. In addition to the symposium’s scientific program, the conference host has prepared a number of social events, including an opening reception, a mid-week scientific excursion, and a banquet with entertainment. There will also be local tours provided especially for accompanying guests before, during, and after the symposium. |
