Location

Tokiwa University is located in Mito City (population 260,000), in Ibaraki Prefecture, which is approximately 120 kilometers northeast of Tokyo. The university is located within easy commuting distance of Tokyo and Yokohama, and is close to the World Heritage Site of Nikko.

 

 

Air Travel

Narita International Airport is 70 kilometers from the university and will be the main point of entry for international participants attending the Symposium.
More than 500 international and domestic flights
arrive and depart from this airport daily. Shuttle buses between the airport and Mito depart regularly. The
journey takes about an hour and thirty minutes and costs ¥3,000.

 

 

Local Transportation

City buses are available from early morning to late evening in Mito. Because Mito is one of the satellite cities of Tokyo, transportation between Mito and Tokyo is excellent. It takes approximately 65 minutes from Mito to downtown Tokyo by express train. There are 32 express trains from Mito to downtown Tokyo each day. There is also an express bus service from Mito to Tokyo, which offers 28 trips a day. The trip takes approximately two hours.
